Patient Guide

Navigating Your Healthcare Journey at Northern Medical Plaza

Welcome to NMP

At NMP, our goal is to make your healthcare experience as easy and stress-free as possible. This guide will help you navigate easily through our healthcare system.

Our Facilities

Our comfortable healthcare facilities are designed to usher you along your healthcare journey. Our main clinic in Orange Walk Town has two entrances: main and emergency. The clinic is divided into two main areas:

  • Outpatient Area: Includes daytime medical services such as medical consultations, diagnostic imaging, laboratory, and pharmacy. There are 11 consultation offices in this area.
  • Inpatient Area: Provides surgical, delivery, and hospitalization services. There are 9 hospital rooms, comfortably furnished and closely monitored by our competent nurses.

Our Medical System

At NMP, we provide care for three main types of medical situations:

Primary and Secondary Care

For patients not experiencing severe symptoms.

Urgent Care

For patients with severe symptoms like pain. They are immediately attended to and stabilized.

Emergency Care

Similar to urgent care, but outside normal daily schedule. We provide 24/7 emergency services.

Primary and Secondary Care Process

Our medical system for primary and secondary care is organized in the following steps:

Medical Consultation

The doctor examines the patient, gathers information, and determines the patient's needs.

Diagnostic Tests

May include laboratory or diagnostic imaging to accurately identify the patient's medical condition.

Pharmacy

Once the medical condition is identified, treatment (often pharmaceutical) is prescribed.

Surgery

Some medical conditions may require interventional treatment.

Hospitalization

To observe a patient's healing process more closely, especially after surgery.

Your Visit to NMP

At NMP, we attend both appointments and walk-in patients, but we recommend making an appointment to reduce waiting time. When you come to the clinic:

  1. Check in with our receptionist.
  2. A nurse will check your vital signs and ask general questions about your health condition.
  3. You will be shown to the doctor's office.
